A Virginia resident has once again struck gold in the lottery. Jennifer Helfman, hailing from Alexandria, scooped up a $100,000 prize in the Dec. 7 Powerball drawing, according to a Jan. 21 announcement by the Virginia Lottery.
This isn’t her first time beating the odds. About two years ago, Helfman won a staggering $399,392 in an online lottery game.
Her latest win came after matching four numbers plus the Powerball, earning her a $50,000 prize, which doubled to $100,000 thanks to an added Power Play feature. “It feels wonderful!” Helfman shared as she claimed her prize.
The winning numbers for the Dec. 7 drawing were 1, 31, 43, 55, 57, with a Powerball of 22. Another player managed to match all numbers, including the Powerball, securing the jackpot.
As of Jan. 23, the Powerball jackpot stands at $46 million, with the next drawing scheduled for Jan. 25, offering players another shot at life-changing winnings.
