Rockford has produced a new millionaire! An Illinois Lottery player struck it rich by purchasing a Mega Millions ticket that won a $1 million prize in the July 26 drawing. The lucky ticket was sold at Casey’s on 5965 Columbia Parkway.
This ticket successfully matched all five numbers drawn on Friday night, securing the seven-figure payout. The lucky combination was 2-14-33-58-65.
The store that sold the winning ticket, Casey’s in Rockford, is celebrating too, as they will receive a $10,000 bonus. This comes from a 1% commission on the prize money.
Beyond the million-dollar win, the drawing was quite fruitful for Illinois residents, with over 23,000 winning tickets distributed across the state. Additionally, two other tickets, sold in California and New Jersey, also won $1 million each.
Looking ahead, the Mega Millions jackpot has swelled to an impressive $331 million. The next chance to win is coming up this Tuesday at 10 p.m. CT.
Winners have up to one year to claim their prizes. Lottery officials advise all winners to sign the back of their tickets and store them securely until they can claim their fortunes.
