Port Royal Resident Hits $100,000 Jackpot with Near-Miss Dream

A lottery enthusiast from Beaufort County struck gold by winning a $100,000 jackpot from the South Carolina Education Lottery. Despite the big win, the recipient mentioned that the reality of his good fortune is yet to fully register.

This fortunate individual purchased his winning PowerPlay ticket at Parkers #48, located at 1705 Ribaut Road in Port Royal, specifically for the drawing held on May 4. He came incredibly close to an even larger prize, matching all but one of the required numbers (14, 20, 23, 53, 69, and Power Ball: 4).

With the odds of matching these numbers at nearly 1 in a million, the winner described his experience as “surreal” and pondered the possibilities had he matched just one additional number, fantasizing about buying new homes for himself and his loved ones.

Nevertheless, he plans to use his winnings for several home improvement projects. For its role in selling the lucky ticket, Parkers #48 was rewarded with a $1,000 commission.
