New Jersey Player Scores $1 Million Powerball Win Ahead of Thanksgiving

A New Jersey lottery player is celebrating a life-changing Thanksgiving after matching five white balls in the Nov. 26 Powerball drawing — good for a $1 million prize.

According to the Powerball website, winning tickets worth $1 million were also sold in California, Pennsylvania, and South Carolina. The California ticket, however, will pay out $979,462, as that state calculates non-jackpot prizes based on sales figures.

Lottery officials have yet to reveal where in New Jersey the lucky ticket was purchased.

No one claimed the Powerball jackpot on Wednesday, pushing the grand prize to an estimated $719 million with a cash option of $333.3 million for the upcoming Saturday, Nov. 29 drawing.

The jackpot hasn’t been hit since Sept. 6, when players from Missouri and Texas shared a record-breaking $1.787 billion prize — the second largest in Powerball history.

The winning numbers for Nov. 26, 2025, were 7, 8, 15, 19, and 28, with the Powerball 3 and a Power Play multiplier of 3x.

Powerball drawings take place every Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday at 10:59 p.m., giving players three weekly chances to strike it rich.
