Maryland Woman’s Car Odometer Leads to Double Lottery Jackpot at 7-Eleven

A lucky woman from Prince George’s County just turned a routine stop into a life-changing moment, pocketing a total of $100,000 from two identical Pick 5 lottery tickets.

The tickets, each worth $50,000, were purchased from a 7-Eleven located at 9413 Livingston Road in Fort Washington, Maryland. The Maryland Lottery confirmed the store will also receive a $1,000 bonus, or $500 per winning ticket.

Though she chose to remain anonymous, the winner shared that she usually plays Pick 4, a game that previously landed her a $5,000 prize. But this time, she switched to Pick 5, using a unique strategy—drawing inspiration from the last five digits of her car’s odometer.

She didn’t think twice about the tickets after buying them. But later that day, while running errands at the same 7-Eleven, she decided to scan them. That’s when the surprise hit.

“When I scanned my ticket, it said ‘$50,000 winner.’ I was shook! I ran out and called my dad right away,” she said.

Describing the moment as both “a dream and a blessing,” she intends to use her winnings sensibly—paying off bills, clearing her car loan, and sharing the prize with her father, who she says has always supported her.

Another win for Pick 5—and this one came straight from the dashboard.
