A Powerball ticket sold at Virk’s Liquors in La Porte, Indiana has hit a $50,000 jackpot. The lucky ticket was purchased at 501 State St., as confirmed by the Hoosier Lottery.
As of now, the winner has not yet claimed their prize. Virk’s Liquors clerk, Harold Peterson, recalls selling the ticket shortly before the drawing but is unsure of the buyer due to the busy period.
Peterson expressed his enthusiasm about the win. “I feel pretty good about it. It’s about time somebody in La Porte won something,” he remarked.
