In an exciting turn of events, two Illinois residents have become instant millionaires, each claiming a $1 million Powerball prize.
One winner purchased their ticket online at IllinoisLottery.com, while the other bought theirs in person at Youmax Liquor & Grocery Store, located at 2222 West Devon Avenue in Chicago’s West Ridge neighborhood. Both tickets matched the winning combination of 5-9-25-28-69 in the Wednesday Powerball drawing, with the Powerball number being 5.
As a result, Youmax Liquor & Grocery Store will receive a $10,000 bonus, which is 1% of the prize value, for selling the winning ticket.
Interestingly, this isn’t the first time the store has been lucky; just a few months ago, they sold a $25,000 scratch-off ticket in April.
