Father’s $1 Million Lottery Gift Helps Newlyweds Start Fresh

Aaron Andrews, recently married, had been living in his father’s basement in Prince William County. His father, a regular lottery player, bought a Virginia Lottery Cash4Life ticket that matched five numbers, winning $1,000 per week for life or a $1 million cash option. He gifted the ticket to Aaron as a wedding present, who chose the $1 million payout.

The winning ticket was purchased at PJ’s Neighborhood Variety Store on Fuller Heights Road in Triangle. The winning numbers for the August 3 drawing were 25-35-36-41-59, with a Cash Ball number of 2.

Aaron plans to use the winnings to buy a new home with his wife. His father joked, “This was the best way to get him out of my basement.”

Cash4Life is played in 10 states, including Virginia, and offers significant prizes. Virginia Lottery profits support K-12 education, with $64.6 million contributed to Prince William County schools last year.
