A $1 million Powerball ticket was sold at Sprint Mart (5780 Hwy. 182 E.) in Columbus, Mississippi, for the New Year’s Eve drawing.
The ticket matched five numbers, but the winner hasn’t claimed the prize yet. They have 180 days from Dec. 31 to come forward.
It’s the second big win from that location in 8 months, following a $56,000 Mississippi Match 5 prize last June. Columbus also saw a $1.2 million winner last year from Texaco 69 Mart.
Store traffic has surged since the announcement, with many hopefuls checking tickets and buying more.
Proceeds from Mississippi Lottery sales support infrastructure and education, with over $745 million raised since 2019.
