Two longtime friends from Canton are celebrating a big win after scoring a $384,709 jackpot from the Michigan Lottery’s Fantasy 5 game.
Michael Rawson, 68, and Jitendrakumar Patel, 60, both members of the Jay Ambe lottery club, purchased the lucky ticket at Charlie’s Liquor Store, located at 129 South Venoy Road in Westland. Their winning numbers from the Sept. 12 draw were 08-16-20-21-28, securing them the top prize.
The pair, who have been playing the lottery together for years, expressed excitement about their plans for the windfall. Rawson shared that they plan to take a cruise and make some investments with their winnings.
At Michigan Lottery headquarters, they officially claimed their prize, with each friend receiving about $192,000 before taxes.
